What changes the price of DJ lessons
When you compare lessons, the headline price only tells you part of the story. These are the things that make the biggest difference:
- Group or one-to-one. Group workshops cost less per child, but the teacher's attention is shared. In one-to-one lessons your child has the mentor to themselves for the whole session.
- Session length. A 30-minute lesson and a 90-minute lesson are very different things. Longer sessions leave time to learn something and then practise it with help.
- Number of sessions. A single taster is cheaper than a full course, but a course has a plan that builds skills week by week.
- Who teaches. Lessons with a working DJ are different from lessons with someone who only teaches.
- Where it happens. Lessons at home save you travel. Lessons online can suit families who live further away.

What your child learns
The Juniors course covers the same core skills as our adult courses, taught at a pace that suits younger learners. That includes how the equipment works, beatmatching, phrasing, using the EQ and putting a short set together. The course ends with a live graduation set, which gives your child something real to work towards and be proud of.
Safety and trust
Every mentor who teaches on our courses holds an Enhanced DBS check. If you have any questions about how lessons at home or online would work for your child, just ask us before you book.
Do you need to buy equipment first?
No. Your child doesn't need their own decks to start. Many families wait until a few sessions in, when the mentor can suggest what to buy based on how your child likes to play. That stops you spending money on the wrong thing.
Questions to ask any DJ teacher
- How long is each session, and how many are there?
- Is it one-to-one or a group?
- Does the teacher hold an Enhanced DBS check?
- Does my child need their own equipment?
- Is there a goal at the end, like a performance?
