Selector DJ Course (Intermediate)
For people who can already mix and want to sound like a DJ: phrasing, keys, track selection and full sets.
This course is for you if…
- You can beatmatch but your mixes don't always flow
- You want to understand keys and build sets with shape
- You've learned on your own and want a working DJ to tighten things up
On the Selector course
- Longer, smoother blends and phrasing across whole tracks
- Musical keys and harmonic mixing
- Choosing tracks and building a crate for different crowds
- Loops, effects and when not to use them
- Planning a set with a start, a peak and an ending
- Recording a mix you're proud to share
By week eight you'll plan and play a full set with shape, and leave with a recorded mix to share.
8 × 90-minute one-to-one sessions, at home or online, and a live graduation set
What a typical Selector course looks like
One 90-minute one-to-one session a week. This is the usual shape; your mentor adapts it to how you learn and the music you love.
Taught by people who actually play out
Every course is taught one-to-one by a working DJ from DJ Archie School's network of 54 mentors across the UK. You're matched with someone near you, or online.
